Heinz Harald Frentzen

Constantly challenging the very limits in reaching higher velocities, travelling at 300 km/h in circuit with a tense frame of body and mind towards ever more challenging goals.
Up until 2004, this was the life of H. Harald Frentzen, Formula 1 driver for Williams and later for Jordan.
Today speed is still a part of his life. Contrastingly he promotes research of his company in new alternatives of propulsion and is personally involved in testing the most innovative of projects.
He loves motoryachting and finds in the Magellano project shares many a common element in his personal progression.
The idea of slowing down does not dissappoint. It excites.

Vittorio Missoni

The ambassador for the Missoni brand worldwide. Runs the family business together with his sister Angela and brother Luca, but his passion for the open sea is a distinct inheritance and uniquely his expression.
A passion inherited from his grandfather, a merchant captain in peaceful times and Naval Frigate Captain in the first World War.
A fisherman at heart and owner of yacht based in Liguria which he visits whenever his business calendar permits.
In his work, and also in life, he loves to combine anticonformisms and comfort, luxury and innovation.
Navigating in the pure Magellano spirit is second nature.

Alex Pino

Alex has been to sea on nearly every type of vessel from submarines to fishing trawlers but the Magellano Voyage will be a new venture.
“The thought of being involved with the Magellano Voyage on a motor yacht of such innovative design and quality will be a whole new experience. I was brought up by the sea and the sea has always been a tremendous part of my life and the thought of venturing out onto the Atlantic in the winter to evaluate this new yacht design will be a new and exciting part of my sea-going career”.
Alex is the fourth generation of his family who have made their living at sea and he has continued this heritage. His passion is fishing and he lives with his wife and 2 year old daughter by the sea in Cornwall, England. “I will miss them when I go away on this voyage but the anticipation of challenging the Atlantic and evaluating this new design from Azimut is the chance that I would not miss. With the Magellano there is so much excitement and passion encompassed in one this one design”.

Manfredo Pinzauto

He must literally “capture the dream”. He is the photographer and reporter Manfredo Pinzauti.
Not a seaman, nor a sailor, but as in common with the Magellano team, he has a love for quest and travel.
He too shall live aboard the Magellano for the entire voyage, he shall personally experience the incredible spectrum of emotions and sensations that this fascinating voyage conjures.
He shall illustrate and document for all to share and experience the true meaning of traveling in the most pure of Magellano spirit.

Captain Jessica Tyson

“A ship is not just a ship, its freedom” That has been the motivation for Jessica Tyson since she first went to sea at the age of 17. Now one of the very few female fully qualified ship’s captains in Britain she was brought up by the sea and his has always been a major part of her life, working on a wide variety of ships and boats.
“I love being out on the water, the wonderful variety of places, the people and weather that you get to meet just by going to work”.
Jessica has worked on tankers, paddle steamers, cruise sailing ships and tugs and is now looking forward to the new experience of working on a luxury yacht.
“I am thrilled to be involved with such an exciting project as the Magellano Voyage. I have always liked a challenge and this project provides just that”.
Jessica Tyson is a lady full of elegance and finesse but is tough enough to cope with storms and as her record proves she can cope with all the challenges that life at sea can bring. “And that’s the Magellano!! I have seen the pictures and now I am looking forward to see what she can do for real!!”

An intense and accomplished life. He who found his vocation in Politics and hers in journalism.
He who became Chief Minister in the state of Jersey, an Island off the shores of Normandy forming part of the United Kingdom.
She who reported for the BBC.
Since the beginning of 2009 they have enjoyed many a person’s lifelong dream. They cast off aboard their yacht without a planned destination. They have not reached the half way mark. Their only goal is to travel, far and wide.
Navigating alongside the North African coast aboard the Magellano formed part of their agenda even before they knew it.
